Stodghill-Weeks appointed to Marion Council

Updated: Oct 14, 2021

Annalisa Stodghill-Weeks has been appointed to fill the vacant seat on the Marion City Council, left empty by the passing of Councilman Don Batchelor.

A caucus of precinct committee representatives serving the area covered by District 5 of the Marion City Council met on Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021, to appoint a replacement for Councilman Batchelor, who passed away last month.

The caucus was run by the Grant County Democratic Party in accordance with requirements and processes outlined in Indiana law.

Stodghill-Weeks will be officially appointed and sworn in as quickly as possible, and before the 30-day deadline outlined in state law for the completion of the appointment. She will fill the remainder of the term, which ends Dec. 31, 2021.

The Grant County Democratic Party thanks all candidates and all precinct representatives who participated in this process.
